Do you find yourself asking, “What the hell is a review for mascara doing on a fitness blog?” Precisely. I don’t know either. But I felt a call to duty to let you know that this stuff is amazing.
I first read about Dior Diorshow mascara in InStyle magazine last year when it won the best overall mascara award. It won last year and in ’11, ’10, ’09, ’08, and in ’07. That was quite a recommendation, but I talked myself out of buying it for a year because it was $25.00 and I thought there really couldn’t be that much of a difference in mascaras. Black goop is black goop, right? Wrong! This is extraordinary black goop! It’s Dior, for God’s sake.
I bought the Diorshow in color #90, which is a black, but not a super-dee-duper black. It’s perfect. I bought it in regular, but it is available in waterproof as well. I don’t know about you, but I am not a fan of waterproof mascaras. I feel like most of them flake more than a regular mascara, and they are virtually impossible to remove at night, even if you use make-up remover. I usually end up kind of plucking it off, losing a few lashes in the process. But I digress. The regular Diorshow is awesome. It has great staying power but is easily removed with soap and water. The brush is big and full, and the mascara goes on beautifully, allowing you to build with each coat until it’s just how you like it.
My only complaint is that for some reason the mascara goop gets globbed up around the cap. (Oh jeez, I shudder to think what my old English professors would say were they to read copy with the words “goop,” and “globbed.” Is glob even a word?) Eventually it builds up and splooges (they’d love that one too,) over the edge and eventually falls off on to the floor, where it is much more difficult to remove than it is from lashes. But other than that it’s a win. Just be sure to put it on while leaning over your counter or be mindful of wiping off the wand when you see build-up. Worth the effort.
Hey! This product is fitness related! I just figured out how! Eureka! I don’t wear make-up to the gym…except for mascara. (When your hair is two inches long you have to make a little effort.)
But mostly I’m just a product whore.

I have not bought any Dior makeup since that eye pencil back in college….maybe it’s still around here somewhere….
Now it’s all Tarjay all the time. Wait no I take that back. I do love the Grassroots cleansers available at Kohl’s. They are made by Estee Lauder and they’re fab. Marcia recently posted…What Makes You Cranky?

I’ll have to try the Grassroots products. I love Target to – I’m pretty sure I couldn’t live in a town unless it had one. Good thing they’re ubiquitous.
